Lance Allen and Guitar

Origins

Lance Allen is a fingerstyle guitarist who has won awards both in US and international competitions. He is a composer and teacher and one of the most-streamed solo acoustic fingerstyle guitarists in the world. In 2008, the Thumbpickers Hall of Fame inducted Lance awarding their Horizon Award for dedication to the art by performing and teaching. In 2019, Lance was a featured subject matter expert in the music business book “Music Business Survival Manual”.

This “King of Spotify”, “Sultan of Stream” has released over 130 songs, opened for Tommy Emmanuel, has over one thousand videos on YouTube of performances, lessons, and product reviews, and thousands of video demos of fine guitars for Guitar Gallery.

Tommy Emmanuel named him Guitar Lancer and Peter Frampton said Lance is one “mean guitarist.” His product endorsements have included Takamine Guitars, Bose, Gretch Guitars, and Handmade Marchione Guitars, among others.

Many years of practice, persistence, and nonstop improvising has led Lance to the creative path of composing beautiful instrumentals for the guitar. Coffee is the constant muse for his artistry.

A teacher of students in all fifty US states and over twenty countries. Whose motto is “teach, coach and inspire”. Who believes providing each student with lessons unique to them is primary. Whose communication style sets him apart from other teachers. Who focuses on keeping the art of thumbpicking alive. And who teaches guitar, bass, ukulele, and mandolin.

Yes, such a teacher keeps his students’ loyal for years.

He continues teaching in his office and through Skype. Lance offers a unique personality and a friendly business atmosphere where people can learn the guitar, bass, ukulele, and mandolin.

Metallica, Nirvana, Eric Clapton, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Led Zeppelin, and Dave Matthews were Allen’s early influences. Lance began teaching guitar in high school and then continued with private students in college. Upon graduation from Middle Tennessee State University with degrees in recording music and small business, Lance took on a full-time job at a local music store. Before too long his schedule was full of students. He soon was managing the business and started a successful eBay store.

On over thirty covers Lance has collaborated on or covered as a solo or as part of duo Allen & Bright — Avery Bright on violin and Lance on guitar.

Lance Allen is a family man with two sons.
